המשרה המקורית · נשמר לעיוןCompany Description
Spear, founded in 2017 and based in Tel Aviv, develops and manufactures the Viper family of advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) for leading defence forces.
As the leading system house in Israel for tactical UAS focusing both on the battalion echelon and submarines, we provide end-to-end system development from concept and design through integration and field testing - delivering AI-powered loitering systems that give any combat unit an “inherent air force” with minimal training.
Our multidisciplinary teams work across hardware, software, computer vision, artificial intelligence, communications, navigation, motion control, and electro-mechanics.
As we continue to grow rapidly, we are looking for talented team players to join our success.
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for Large-Scale Multidisciplinary Project in the Defence Industry with a strong multidisciplinary background across software, AI, data, sensors, hardware, and mechanical domains, to drive the end-to-end system definition and delivery of a complex, large-scale system of systems, in the defence industry, and in a mission-critical environment.
The senior system engineer will be responsible for defining, specifying, and leading the system architecture, design and interfaces of an advanced armed UAV system, integrating hardware, software, mechanics, control algorithms, mission management capabilities, and payload subsystems.
The role requires strong multidisciplinary systems-level thinking and understanding expertise and leadership across all engineering domains, from concept stage up to field deployment, ensuring robust performance, and driving alignment between R&D, product, validation, and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Own system architecture, design, and performance across the product lifecycle - from concept definition through design, integration, validation, and delivery.
translate product requirements into detailed subsystem specifications (avionics, control, communication, payload, armament, mechanics, etc.) and manage them to ensure full traceability and consistency across all disciplines.
Lead system capability development, balancing mission needs, platform constraints, and technology readiness.
Planning and managing the system interfaces to ensure seamless integration and cross-domain coherence between all the disciplines
Work with product management to derive and translate operational and mission needs into system-level specifications and deliverables.
Support development teams throughout design, integration, and verification phases.
Lead system-level integration, ground tests (in the laboratory and in the field), flight tests, and real-world validation.
Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and manufacturing readiness, ensuring design maturity and manufacturability.
Lead and execute system qualification.
Conduct system performance analysis, troubleshoot system-level issues, and propose design improvements as part of CIP (Continuous Improvement Process)
Document and communicate system design rationale, trade-offs, and test results to stakeholders across engineering and operations.
Define and manage system and interface documents (SRS, ICD, ATP, test plans, integration procedures, etc.).
Lead technical reviews (SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.)
Participate in safety, reliability, and system certification processes.
Interface and ongoing collaboration with subcontractors and business partners.
