Candidate Profile

·        Outstanding PhD graduates in exact/life sciences.

·        Proven research excellence

·        An independent research project combining AI with biology, chemistry, physics, or neuroscience

·        For WIS graduates: Projects within one’s PhD group will not be considered.

·        Collaboration with one or more WIS research groups: encouraged not mandatory

·        Open to foreign and Israeli candidates

Support and Resources

·        A two-year contract covering salary and benefits, extendable to a third year

·        Travel funding to support conference participation and scientific engagement

·        Access to powerful GPU/CPU resources

·        Opportunity to apply for a part-time technician/programmer support

·        Integration into the WIS AI Hub network of interns, students, fellows, and researchers

·        Mentoring by a WIS PI of choice (based on mutual agreement)

2. Research proposal (up to 2 pages), including:

·     Abstract

·     Problem definition

·     What makes you the right person for this?

·     Data sources – size, scope, public or new

·     Methodological novelty

·     Potential WIS collaborations (optional)

3. Letter(s) of support from your PhD advisor, and from a first postdoctoral advisor if applicable

Deadlines: applicants may apply in either round; both follow the same evaluation process.

Up to four candidates will be hired in each round.

First round: July 1st, 2026 (interviews in July; start date Summar/Fall 2026)

Second round: October 15, 2026

(interviews in October; start date Fall 2026-Spring  2027)
