Job Description
Responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the school’s computing systems (hardware and software), server rooms, information systems, and network infrastructure in teaching and research laboratories. Implementation of the school’s computing policies in coordination with the supervisor and the head of the technical division.
Ensuring proper functionality of computing equipment in server rooms, teaching and research laboratories, academic and administrative offices, and research student workspaces. Providing support for installations, updates, and troubleshooting.
Coordinating computing needs with the supervisor and academic staff: budgeting for computing systems, defining software packages for teaching and research, and providing guidance and support for purchasing computing equipment according to the needs of faculty members and students.
Responsibility for system security and backups. Updating, supporting, and installing operating systems and software packages across the school’s computing infrastructure.
Managing the technical staff of the computing unit: mentoring, evaluating, and developing team members, defining tasks, and monitoring execution.
Providing service to students and faculty: training, consulting, and resolving technical issues.
Supporting the onboarding of new faculty members: advising on computing equipment purchases, installations, and related needs. Responsibility for supporting mobile computing equipment for academic staff.
Initiating and developing technological improvements and implementing them: developing applications and systems to enhance service and optimize the school’s computing operations.
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations within the scope of responsibilities.
Performing additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Reports to: Head of School.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems Engineering; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience providing IT services and user support.
Experience managing Unix, VMware, Windows, and HPC (GPUs) servers.
Experience managing databases.
