The Role:

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our founding team and work closely with the CTO on the core systems behind the company: agentic pipelines that turn raw signals into evidence lawyers can stake cases on.

This is a backend-heavy role focused on tool-using agents, structured outputs, evals, model routing, tracing, retries, and the infrastructure that makes LLMs reliable in a legal, regulated, and adversarial environment.

You Might Be a Fit If You:

•⁠ ⁠Have 5+ years of engineering experience, backend-heavy with Node.js / TypeScript.

•⁠ ⁠Have shipped production agentic systems — not just chat wrappers.

•⁠ ⁠Care deeply about reliability, observability, evals, and structured outputs.

•⁠ ⁠Have strong opinions on when to use a frontier model vs. a cheaper model.

•⁠ ⁠Are comfortable owning deploys and infrastructure, ideally on GCP.

•⁠ ⁠Can learn complex domains from primary sources — statutes, specs, papers, and legal documents.

You don’t need a legal background. But you should be the kind of engineer who would read a 40-page statute because the system you’re building depends on it.

Bonus:

Experience with browser automation at scale, open-source AI/agent work, prompt/eval iteration, or a non-CS academic background.
